    Electric Windows Stopped Working

    Hi All,
Both of my electric windows have stopped working. I have done a search of the forum and so have checked my overdrive, and that is still working. Before I take the parcel shelf off to look at the circuit breaker, is there a simple check I can do with a voltmeter at the switch block? I have attached a photo of the wires going into/out of the RH switch connector, but I don't know which terminals to attach the voltmeter leads to. Any advice would be gratefully received.

All sorted now. I put the meter between the black and slate/green wires at the back of the RH switch and got 12 volts, so I pulled out the LH one and found that the connector was coming away at one end. Once pushed back on firmly, both windows then worked fine.

I had the same problem with my drivers window yesterday, it just stopped working altogether so thought try the switch first and yes, power going in and not out.

So, disconnected the plug, pulled it out of the outer plastic surround and sprayed the contacts with electrical cleaner (Isopropanol) put all back together and now works better than ever with clearly more current reaching the motor as the window goes up and down much more quickly. Treated the LH switch to same and same result with faster window.

        Perfect!
