    What are the odds

Customer shows up with his new Stag looking for some confidence and reassurance that the car is good.

Mine is also here. body numbers are 2 units apart and commission numbers are 19 apart.

I expect these two shared the same transport from Speke to Canley for final assembly where upon they went their separate ways. only to meet again nearly 51 years later, in my yard

    Cool moment

Mine has the black interior, the customers car is much nicer, though he is not fond of the colour coded t-bar, dash and console.

and yes I know the rain gutters are missing from the screen pillars and that I still need to refit my front number plate

Mine, although export model, was first registered Dec 1973 and his was first registered Jan 1974.

Both heritage certificates state Aug 31st 1973 as build date.... Reckon the chap who was responsible for keeping the records went on strike from 30 August until the end of the year

but that assumes all home market cars survived production to present day..

how many UK cars survived to now

When we were chatting this made the little hairs stand up on my neck.. like Holy crap the body numbers are 2 apart, the same lads worked on each car within the same 30 mins .. Unless the communist party called them out on strike, because the Bronco bog paper had been replaced by something softer, at that exact moment

better than a "yellow car" dead arm every single time you get into the car

Odds similar to me going with a prospective buyer to view two local Stags for sale and finding that their commission numbers differ by 6. Both over priced cr*p too

Was one of them the Carmine one on FB by any chance Dave?
Paul - 3 projects, 1 breaker - garage built and housing 2 white Stags. One runs, one doesn't

On the subject of two Stags and coincidences, some years ago I booked my yellow Mk2 Stag into our local tyre specialist, pulled into the only bay and left the car with them, to be collected a couple of hours later. On my return, 'my' car was where I had left it but it had a different registration. Totally confused, my initial reaction was why have they changed the number plate. But on closer inspection I realised that it was in fact another Stag. Also yellow, also Mk2. My car had been moved out of the way. What are the odds of that I wonder?! I have since got to know the other Stag owner well and Oatlands Tyres have dined out on the story many times, as have I.
