    Drive shaft lock nut

Recently replaced drive shaft from Rimmers. Didnt have the castle nut as the original but needs a nylock nut instead. Have any of you wizards out there have any ideas what I should torque this to.? As probably different to the workshop manual. Its the left hand side .

I think you’ll have to stick with 120ftlbs

edit:- take it up to 80 ftlbs. Check hub turns.

increase in steps of 5 ftlbs. Check hub turns.

    head towards 120 if possible.

I wouldn't just torque it up, as the adjusting nuts on the inside would have been set to the correct end float and if the outside nut moves along with the flange you could in theory overload the bearings, as this nut is torqued first then the hub end float set by adjusting the large nut of the inside and locking that off by a second nut and lock tab.

I m hoping the handbrake will be sufficient to steady the hub whist adjusting. Thank you for the information.
