Moss tell me they have a delivery around the same time Martin but only 5. I'm trying to find a way to get some stock for members but nothing concrete yet.

Hi Paul , I cancelled my order with Rimmers and my fitter managed to get a screen for me, which is now fitted, I didn't get back the price of the rubber which I ordered, the insurance company said it was a consumer able item, so received back £388 out £568.96, £140 excess.

But Dave is still waiting ,and more chips will be on the way over the summer as stag use age increases.

      Thanks

      Martin

Second failed attempt at getting the new windscreen fitted. Glass was good. Rubber was good. Unfortunately, when removing the existing stainless trim we found it was the early type with a wide gap, the same as the spare set I have . Ordered another set from TW and will have to book it in again! Anyone want two sets of early trim?

The glass they have sourced is another one from Fuyao, but this time it is not chipped and scratched. I looked at the glass in my modern (2021 Audi Q2) the other day to find it is all marked:

Finally, I have a new windscreen! What a saga!

Logged the cracked screen with Auto Windscreens on March 10th.

First scheduled visit to AW (28th March), they found that the new screen they had sourced was damaged.

Second scheduled visit (8th May), the fitter couldn't get the spare trim I took along to stay on the rubber seal. The trim fitted to the car was the same. I left, with the mission to acquire a set of the other trims, with the narrower gap. This was sourced from Tonywhite

Third scheduled visit today. The fitter couldn't get the second type of trim to fit either. I had already told him that there were no other options and if neither fitted, then he had the wrong seal. After much head scratching, he had another go with the original trim and this time he was successful. Took him 2.1/2 hours. This was their so-called specialist on classic cars

I now have a spare set of both types of trim, one of which cost me money I need not have spent
