    Door lock barrel linkage

Neither of the door lock barrels have a positive stop action. Normally a key would have a 1/4ish turn and then stop, both of mine keep on rotating. Looking at the manual they are fitted into the linkage down to the lock through a squared section for location and then a rigid wire - should the wire to squared section pressing be fixed or articulated?

it’s very simple design so the problem must be in this area when I take the door cards off.
I don’t think I’m going to find the square pressing has rounded or the lock probably wouldn’t work at all.
    TIA

Chances are that the control rods have dropped off.

All depends on whether you have mk1 or mk2, the outer handle is similar but the catch and internal mechanisms are a world different.

This is a vid I made that features a Mk1 stag

    And this is my Mk2

I make no apology for the occasional profanity in these features, my parents did a great job, but working on old cars brings out the worst in me sometimes
