    Steering column lower bush replacement

I've been directed to Julian's document in the technical section. In my case, metal part 152555 is stuck to part 152554 which is stuck to metal part 152552. Since it is all stuck together, metal part 152555 has been rotating on the main column shaft. If I replace part 15244, what prevents part 152555 from rotating on the shaft?

Hi Sujit, it's been a while since I did this but I seem to remember that 152555 is clamped lengthwise between the the rings 152553 x2. 152555 should rotate freely in the DX type lining of 152554.

I'll investigate over the weekend. I may pack it with ptfe tape so for sure it is tight on the shaft.

I have a follow up question. The kit is supplied with a wavy washer which was not stock. Does this washer next to the circlip or does it does it go between 153816 and 152553.

Yes afaiaa between those two items… gives an anti - lash preload.

I believe it was ‘stock’ on later assemblies.

pretty certain I’ve seen it on a few.
