As a new Stag owner I'm trying to locate a pair of appropiate and neat-fitting front mudflaps (I have the rear ones). Any advice please?

Front and rears are the same, you could buy the rubber sheets and design your own of course, I find them adequate with the stag logo on them -

I recently fitted a set of OE spec front flaps to a Rover p6, not this one but the flaps look the same.
oblong, probably fit onto the leading edge of the front outrigger on the stag
