My tank looks very sound on the ouside but pours out lots of piles of rust. Once I've done the "gravel shake" is there any rust treatment the inside can be given? Thank you!

Yes, success had using 85% phosphoric acid … swash and soak for 30 minutes. With or without media.
Rinse out with water and then immediately thoroughly warm / hot air dry.
other lower % are available and effective but activation time will be longer
It burns clothes and stings , so get protection equipment.
it leaves a great phosphated surface behind.
this question was asked previously on here and feedback was positive for the suggestion too.
i did a full cut open repair to a tank…. Cannot recommend that…. As the time passed, it became apparent that £600 / £700 for a new tank was better value than cutting, cleaning and rejoining without leaks. Horrific job.
pressure test the tank before refitting.

availability of phosphoric acid has become restricted.
(naughty naughty acid)
if you search, it’s still possible to get though.
phosphoric acid is the main ingredient in stuff like jenolite…. But low concentration and hideously marketed / priced.Last edited by jbuckl; 11 January 2025, 23:36.

Throw some magnetic bolts into the tank and thinners. rattle it around for a while and then use a magnet on a stick to extract the bolts.
We have a range of internal and external fuel tank sealers resistant to petrol, diesel, oils, and solvents. All have been tested to be resistant to 100% corn bio ethanol. We have also tested to current E10 fuel with 10% ethanol and the E15 fuel with 15% ethanol anticipated for introduction to the UK soon. At Rustbuster we use both polyurethane and epoxy technology and our full range includes tank sealers for industrial petro chemical plant bulk storage tanks. Please contact us with your specific requirements. For industrial fuel storage tank coatings, Novalac epoxy and pipe line identification, Shell, BP, and other corporate coating colours please call. Fuel tanks that require sealing should have any existing/failing coatings removed prior to application. Tank-Kleen A caustic detergent that removes tar and petrol deposits from an old tank. Supplied with every Slosh tank seal kit or buy seperately. Slosh Tank Sealer – New Formula Due to our original Slosh binder being no longer available we have switched to a new formul , still ethanol proof and tested to the same high standards. For bike and car fuel tanks: steel, aluminium and GRP (not plastic). PC-7 Epoxy Paste The king of repair paste. It’s petrol resistant, so ideal for sealing suspect areas such as seams, welds and pin holes on a tank exterior. PC-7 is a fine paste; not a putty stick. Tank-Guard Epoxy coating for tank exteriors, including sealing of tank seams and repairs after application of PC-7. Stops ethanol/petrol fume bleed that can ruin a painted tank. Over paintable. Previously Coated Fuel Tank Stripper This extremely strong resin remover will strip an old flaking or failed fuel tank sealer. Coating Removal Service Rustbuster have partnered with Enviro-Strip to offer a collection, strip and return service for tanks.

Chaps, I searched for images using ‘female wiring diagram’
first result was ‘error 404 cannot be found’
using a better search engine I got this:-
Dont recognise the rear view at all.
maybe 3 pins is correct for male , but a bit under estimated for the other?

Later I found this which struck a chord, but there’s got to be more, much more to it…. Isn’t there?
