I have lost the brake fluid in one side of the reservoir :?there is fluid residue at one rear cylinder but not enoughto warrant a whole tank full. I have checked everything else and it`s all ok. Any thoughts.
I personally went for a new one when mine went on the basis that if the seals have gone the bore is probably corroded - I think you can do the seals but it is a bit of a awkward job - others will know more
had this fluid drained back to servo ,got a new m/cyl from ld parts with st/steel sleeve and cleaned out servo refit bleed and fine.just watch out for the shuttle valve in thelittle valve block at front n/s below wiper motor must remain centralised.

Beautiful early mk1 white tv8 mod? MGB GT and now looking for another V8
brake fluid is the best paint stripper so clean everything well too.
Hi Adrian, warm soapy water. I had the same experience as Stuart, re-sealing is quite difficult and as he says, you've no idea what the bore is like, also, so-called new seals are often new old stock and fail quickly. Cheer up, it's time your brake fluid was junked anyway from the look of it Wanna hand ? Martin.

Cheers martin i may take you up on that, i will let you know wednesday.
I have the same problem of losing fluid. I am going to replace the master cylinder. Is there any need to remove the lost fluid from the servo? Is there an easy way to do that?
