Beeping the horn blew a fuse

Talk about getting angry! I went to beep my horn and my car blew a fuse, not me

The battery control 35amp one. Literally blew a hole in the glass and everything...

Not sure what's going on, so will investigate... anyone else had that before?

First thing would be to look behind the front valence and see if the purple/yellow wire is connected to the horns, or if it is loose and touching bare metal. If all ok there, then back to the horn relay on the relay board behind the parcel shelf to check if there is anything untoward there.

Thanks, I'll check that out, except my horn is attached to the windscreen wiper motor (Mk1) so slightly different configuration!

All Stags had the horns (pair) mounted on the front LH panel, near the headlights. The attached photo shows the rear of the mounting brackets. If yours are elsewhere, then who knows what has been done to the wiring.
