    Surprised / relieved

Was helping a member with his lumpy engine.

    ignition seemed fine.

couldnt spot the cause in the time available.

suggested new diaphragms …. Didn’t have time to check them.

however diagnosis was spot on …. But not for the usual reason C628621E-A0D3-4B15-969B-FF7C17A7E40B.jpg

Lumpy on picking up revs. But only 1 screw was loose.

Well spotted. My wife thinks I have a screw loose as well. Cant think why.

Funny things carbs. Not proud but mine ran OK with one of the air valves in the wrong way round for a long time. In my defense it wasn’t me who had fixed the diaphragm on the air valve without lining up the little tab.

left hand carb, inner rear screw?

that screw is a bugger to get to with the pedestal in the way.

All 4 screws need to be done up evenly else the piston will not rise and fall smoothly

If I’d had time on the 1st look I would have taken the elbows off for a visual check of that.

it needs the damper o-rings doing anyway…. Will be done on another session
