Hi,thought i'd fit a battery isolater switch to my stag, tried fitting a cheapy off ebay, and it was cheap rubbish, any recomendations of a decent one would be gratefully appreciated, thank's.

I have had a "Richbrook Discarnect" unit fitted for years, works fine, despite only being around a tenner. Get a spare connector knob, worth it.
Header tanks - you can't beat a bit of bling.

I agree with Wilf, but get one of the genuine ones: https://www.richbrook.co.uk/product/...master-switch/

There are cheapos which look similar and have a green knob, but the one I had let me down at a very inopportune moment

One has to remember to keep putting that screw cap back I , when I had one I used to blowing the accessories fuse , so I done away with it , it sitting my garage somewhere, do you want it for security reasons ,

I bought a green one which broke on fitting. Replaced with the slightly more expensive black Richbrook one which has worked fine. Only about a tenner!

Spend a bit more and be done with it. I've added a remote disconnect to my Stag, dead simple to install and saves your, now, expensive battery too.

I had the usual cheap battery isolator disconnect, but grew tired of opening the hood (bonnet) every time to manually disconnect the battery, so I installed a remote battery disconnect. After running the car, I simply shut off the battery and it's good to go next time. Plus, it doubles as a security deterrent as well.

I used to have to put it on trickle charge, since I don't drive the car too often, but not anymore; very small parasitic losses. For my situation, it's a great addition.

I've just done a comparison between my existing green one and the new Richbrook one - no discernable difference and the knobs are interchangeable although different colours!

                        Hi Richard,

I guess there are some good green knobs out there . The one I had served me well for a few years, but then developed a fault, causing difficulty in starting. This happened in heavy traffic on the M6. The contact surfaces (battery post, earth wire and knob) were all clean, but a heavy twist on the knob restored connection - for a while. This happened a few times, so bought a new one from Richbrook and all has been fine since. I inspected the unit I took off and couldn't see anything amiss, but it went in the bin. I can't remember where I bought it from.

Wow… so many modern cars could benefit from this…. Complex systems that end up giving battery drain that are very tricky to. Fix.
