I agree with Wilf, but get one of the genuine ones: https://www.richbrook.co.uk/product/...master-switch/
There are cheapos which look similar and have a green knob, but the one I had let me down at a very inopportune momentDave

I had the usual cheap battery isolator disconnect, but grew tired of opening the hood (bonnet) every time to manually disconnect the battery, so I installed a remote battery disconnect. After running the car, I simply shut off the battery and it's good to go next time. Plus, it doubles as a security deterrent as well.
I used to have to put it on trickle charge, since I don't drive the car too often, but not anymore; very small parasitic losses. For my situation, it's a great addition.

I guess there are some good green knobs out there. The one I had served me well for a few years, but then developed a fault, causing difficulty in starting. This happened in heavy traffic on the M6. The contact surfaces (battery post, earth wire and knob) were all clean, but a heavy twist on the knob restored connection - for a while. This happened a few times, so bought a new one from Richbrook and all has been fine since. I inspected the unit I took off and couldn't see anything amiss, but it went in the bin. I can't remember where I bought it from.
