Question on Hardtop Liner Boards

I am relining the hardtop and not sure how these boards that were part of the reliner kit are to be installed.

Should the boards be glued on the Hardtop as shown in the picture then the liner material covered over them?

Also should some thin foam also be glued to the top of these boards? (the old liner had some foam but no boards).

Any advice would be appreciated to get the liner fitted correctly.

To fit mine l glued the headlining material to the boards with a big overlap around the edge. I then glued this extra material folded around the steel work so that the window trim fits over the outboard edge and the inboard edge is hidden under the hardtop. It takes a bit of snipping and pulling to make a neat finish especially around the 'B' post handles, I wish I'd done mine better. The board isn't fastened at all, it's just held in by the material covering it. I suppose a thin foam would improve the looks but I didn't bother - I'm too busy driving my car to look at it!

Thanks Richard, I may end up using some foam as the boards look like more of a hassle than they are worth.

Thanks for the pictures drew, putting the smaller trim pieces are more fiddley to fit that the main top liner, almost done
