So Long and Thanks for all the Fish

After 16 years as a member my membership runs out today and as I no longer have a Stag I can't justify renewing. I guess in a short while I will no longer be able to post on the forum.

i wish you all well with your cars.

In the words of the Dolphins as they left earth "So Long and Thanks for all the Fish", and for those that are totally confused and think I have finally lost the plot, that is a quote from The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams

All the best Roger. You'll still have access on the public areas of the forum-do pop in from time to time, your inputs are valuable. We can't keep a certificate valid so pulling your access is likely to take some time anyway....

16 years is a long time. Hope the car went to a good home. May I ask the reason for selling? Did you trade up to another classic?

Thanks for the kinds words. Appears I still have access to the forum

Trunt, yes have a towel ready and am drinking a few pints of beer just in case.

STypeR..... 16 years is not that long in my book - still have my first "classic" a 1955 Standard 8, owned that since 1981. Also still have my Land Rover 110, had that since 1995 - 30 years. Gets Historic Vehicle status next April. SWMBO had her MX5 for 20 years. Not one for selling cars really, just like collecting them - trouble is once they are restored and on the road it's a struggle to use them all. Last year I had My Dolly Sprint, Warwick GT, Land Rover and the Stag "on the road", as well as a long list of "projects" waiting (Citroen AX GT, Pug 106GTi, Standard 8/10 Saloon, Pick Up and Van, Vanguard Diesel and a Austin Healey Sprite which I started on over 40 years ago). Not getting any younger and am starting to "downsize" - the Stag was the first to go mainly because it was in the best condition and was used the least - it went to a guy down in Dorset who came and collected it and drove it "home" 170 odd miles along the south coast - not heard much from him but as far as I know he is very happy with the car.

42 may be the answer, thing is did they ask the right question??
