    Door window frame gap filler!

Has anyone any information about a mysterious gap-filling rubber seal that I have on the passenger door but not the drivers door. Have asked Robsport etc and no one seems to know if this is a user solution or a BL part (there’s no part number for this as far as I can tell). What does everyone else do, or is it just ‘mind the gap’?

    Cheers

    Mark.
I have got a pair of them on my Stag, seemingly made from the same material! I made mine with off cuts from a strong thick black plastic sheet foam used as heavy duty packing material. It is also excellent for sitting/kneeling on when working on the car. And many other things.

Thanks Mike, that’s a good idea to use packing material. I’ll keep my eye open for some.

      Cheers

          Hi Mark,
I too had same issue with mine but both were missing. After changing all the window rubber seals and putting the frame back in the door, I just used translucent silicone and carefully smoothed it. I would attach a piccy but currently car is elsewhere.

“get yourself a decent sized pencil erasor” . I sincerely apologise to any of our American cousins reviewing this topic!

            Thanks for the advice, All

lol + 1 .. 45 years ago I brought the house down when I asked to borrow a rubber while attending training in Beverton, OR. My classmate Susan from Huntingdon Beach, CA, offered to give me one, she said said I didn't need to give it back.

My stag has neoprene sponge in that location.

previousy had molded epdm, but they were squished

It would be possible to model in 3d and print in tpu, but probably not worth the trouble.

Many thanks on the ‘eraser’ tip. Got some black poly erasers and carved to the gap and shape of the gap (which was different on both sides - good ole BL!). Just waxoiled underneath them to prevent water wicking/rust (looks like that happened previously).

                    Cheers
