Boot hinge trims

I have bought the boot trim kit from the Brothers. The 2 hinge trims have me baffled. I am not sure which side is which and how they are screwed to the hinge mounts. There are 2 holes on each hinge mount for self tappers and each cover has a chalk arrow pointing to a pre drilled hole. That hole seems to go on the blind side of the hinge mount and there is no corresponding hole there. What am I missing?

Crumbs I struggled with these things over 20 years ago, my solution was to reach for the used old items I took out, removed the carpet from the backing and use the carpet from the new items on the old backing.

Cannot believe that they are still sending them out the wrong shape surely!

Unfortunately they were missing when I bought the car so I have no reference to the old ones. Hence my query. I have downloaded a lot of photos of Stag boots but they are generally not high enough resolution to help me. Might have to wait till it is registered and I can go to a club meeting and look at other Stags!
