Engineering company recommendations in Essex

Looking to get a flywheel skimmed whilst the engine is out of the car I’ve tried Thurstons and Gosnays which have quoted about £250 which seems excessive to me.
Can anyone recommend a company in Essex or Hertford that I could try.

Last time I had a flywheel skimmed it was £100, CK Motor Engineers in High Wycombe. A job I guess which is a bit like paint, 99% of the effort is in setting it up.

Totally agree Mike, but the OP says he was quoted £250 which he thinks to be expensive and was asking for other suggestions. I thinks this is ok actually, considering Gosnay's proven expertise and that they will be looking to cover the opportunity cost of not having the machine available for other work during the set-up time.

Just thought £250 was way too much money especially when you can get a rebore for £40 per cylinder

After a few Google searches I found Tiptree Precision engineering they are a small old school engineering shop.
They skimmed the flywheel for £50 + vat and a 2 day turnaround very happy with the results.
Chatting to the owner Steve they will skim heads and brake disks and also machine one off components etc.
They have quite a good website so worth a look.
