Hi everyone, it seems to be one thing after another at the moment l fix one problem and then along comes another one. My immobiliser has developed an intermittent problem the light keeps going out where you insert the fob, so guessing l have a loose connection somewhere. If I was to remove it and fit a kill switch is there anything I need to be aware of, I’m not really that great when it comes to electrics. Any help will be much appreciated. Steve

they are not generally that had to remove, you just need to be logical with the wiring diagram and what you have with the car. Usually these things will cut the circuits to starter solenoid and fuel pump. not difficult to bypass. The immobiliser box itself will be quite small and just have a big bunch of black wires coming from it. you can usually find it by following the wire with the bulb that the dongle goes onto back to the logic box.
Be aware that some insurance companies insist on them so if you are removing / disabling it they may need to know.
If I were you I might contact a local alarm / immobiliser specialist and get them to come out and fix what you have or replace with something new.Stags and Range Rover Classics - I must be a loony

Hi Richard, this is turning into a real head scratcher. I have found little black box, the wire coming out of it with 5 amp fuse attached wasn’t connected to anything so as a guess l plugged it into rear ignition spade. Before I did this the red light wasn’t flashing and still no flashing but now I can start the car without putting electric key into the receptacle. Many thanks for your help. Steve
