Stearing Column Parts

I have refurbished my stearing column but found these parts left over and can not identify them, They are not listed in parts books or manuals so I wonder if they are no longer needed. Can anyone tell me where they came from

When I did mine I found one of the spring clips with the holes in fitted behind each of the bushes, the locating boss of the bushes goes through the hole. However I believe most people including me haven't attempted to refit these, the new bushes available now seem to work well without them. The other pieces in the photo look like remains of the original bushes?

metal spring clips held the original bush parts in place between the inner and outer case of the steering column, you do not need them if replacing the bushes with new items
