    Immobiliser removed now nonstarter

Hi everyone, I was having trouble with my immobiliser so I removed it, reconnected cables where needed red coming out of lumenition and one from inertia switch. But now stag won’t start turns over lovely but won’t fire up. What should I check first. Thanks in advance Steve

    Petrol pump pumping?
    spark at plugs?

Hi Goldstar, yes petrol pump working I will check spark plugs tomorrow. While I was searching on forum I read that the red wire coming out of lumenition box should be piggy backing the white and green wire that goes to inertia switch, at the moment it’s going to battery on back of fuse board so maybe that is my mistake. Cheers Steve

original immobiliser should interfere with starter solenoid, fuel pump, ignition supply to coil. or all three or any duo of the 3 mentioned.

If pump is pumping and starter is engaging then I would be checking for a spark next.

Fairly easy to take a supply for luminition from the back of the fuse box and any on of the white wires.

You can also piggy back the ignition coil off one of the white wires BUT would need to know first which ignition coil you have fitted and the year of your car

Hi thanks Richard, I will look tomorrow and report back. When’s your next Stag video coming out. A good one would be valve shims/ tappets. It took me forever to do mine with taking information from two or three videos from YouTube, I always find your videos much more easier to follow and much more entertaining. Mine are much quieter now but not perfect, I think number six cylinder valves are still quite tappy. Many thanks Steve

Richard”s videos are great and factual unlike many of the Stag videos.

                Thank you.

Oddly I did do one on a TR7 cylinder head but abandoned the project because it, the head, was just dead. Thinking ah yes another will be along soon and it never was

Hi everyone, problem now solved I had put the red wire out of box on ignition spade at the back of the fuse board, I moved it to battery spade and now all back to normal. Many thanks Goldstar and Richard for your help. Steve

If that connection is permananelty "live", you should consider finding another that is ignition switched.

My thoughts also, Wilf, as it'll be a constant drain (albeit small) drain on the battery. My Lumenition is connected to the inertia switch (on Ignition circuit) and works fine, though quickly checking the installation instructions, they show a direct connection to the Battery Cotrol circuit. Go figure

Worth checking the bucket on 6. For some reason (I think it gets least oil) it seems they tend to go a bit oval and tick
