I got fed up with wrongly made cylinder head half moons, ended up maching some up out of ally & bonding them in, can be knocked out if ever needed.

I've just removed both cam covers. The rear D block on both had a film of oil under them, the left worse than the right. Interestingly between the gasket and the head on both sides was a thin bead of black rubbery silicon which I had to be very careful to keep out of the head. I plan to bling up the covers whilst they are off, so they won't be going straight back on.

If "blinging " the covers uip involves shot or bead blasting them, beware getting the blast media entrapped in the filtering media of the breather.
Header tanks - you can't beat a bit of bling.

No, just a wire brush on a battery drill, and I will mask everything off before I start (thanks Edd China).

Before I start a job I always try to get all the bits I need first. And I ALWAYS end up having to put another order in before I can finish. Not only do I need a gasket and D seals, I also need the nut seals 148090, 8 of.
