I have used both the multi piece kit and the single foam backs from Jim at SE trimming. I didn’t find the single piece ones easy to fit compared to the kit.
Whichever you go for it’s a disgusting and messy job.
Paul - 3 projects, 1 breaker - garage built and housing 2 white Stags. One runs, one doesn't
I have done a set before (and the kit came from SE trimmings) so am well aware of the mess, but a lot of the mess is going in my car right now and as I don't use the car that much over winter, its the right time to do something about it. Also I don't like sitting nearly on the floor pan (LOL)
I intend doing the same over the winter. I have hoovered out the covers as much as possible as the crumbling foam was covering the floor all the time. It still is! Amazing how much mess it makes! I also may repair or replace the seat covers but they are pretty good except for the piping on the drivers door side of the drivers seat and a smaller length on the passenger seat. Is it possible to get the ribbing / piping repaired? Seat covers are very expensive as you all know. Any thoughts on this?

Yes you can get them repaired. I know of a lady on the Northwick Business Centre, Northwick Park, Blockley, Moreton-in-Marsh GL56 9RF. but you would need to go see her now, as she is so busy. But I guess there are others that can do a mend, perhaps someone on here knows.

Most likely that the diaphragm has failed under the seat base, have a gander at this video I made years ago
I refurbed my front seats using the foams from Jim of SE Trimming and followed Richard's Youtube video which is really helpful (nice one Richard!!). Standard variations on a theme I'd guess but no major issues, I was changing the interior colour so was using second hand trim. Without question a job well worth doing though. Rear seat was stripped out but not yet reassembled - so great to see how Drew tackled his in the link he's provided.
Good luck
Gord

Thanks Richard. I will try to find someone a bit closer to me if possible as I am on the West Sussex coast. But thanks for the info.
I have retrimmed a lot of Stag front seats making my own foams, which is tricky but also using the foams from Aldridge Trimming which is not too difficult, and they can get a good shape. Not yet tried Jim's foams though.
I have bought seat foam from both Aldridge and South East Trimming. I can only compare the bolster foam for the back. Stick with Aldrigde. Their foam is formed in some mold so the contours of it are great. Jim's foam is hand cut. The part around the back of the seat is squared off.
I bought a set of seat foams from Aldridge about 20 years back, The foam for the bolsters were made of a firmer material than the stuff they sell now. I bought another set recently for another Stag. I can't compare the base foam.
