TR5 Stolen from Car Show this afternoon.....

Hi Everyone -

Just saw a message concerning a stolen TR5 on the TSSC Forum.........

MOE 954F, green with a red interior.
Stolen this afternoon from the Battlebridge Classic Car show in Essex.

Andy, thinking about this it does not surprise me, I am as guilty as anyone at car shows and nearly always leave the keys in the car; thinking i am amongst like minded enthusiasts i think it's safe. But after reading this, today will be the last car show i do that. leaving the keys in the ignition would invalidate the insurance.

Does anyone know a chap called Richard from Middlesex?, owns an original black Stag and is a mechanic. He left his Stag for a few minutes at the Uxbridge show ( couple of years ago I think), when he came back he found it all scratched up and a number of things stolen from it.

He vowed never to attend Uxbridge again.

I left the car unlocked today at the show whilst i walked into town with the kids,

as you say you dont seem to think the same. I wouldn't leave it unlocked anywhere else. Not again.:shock:

I know what you mean Ian, i never leave the keys in the car, but i am guilty of leaving stuff lying around dash/seats.

just for the record i was led to believe the only stags that were painted black in the factory were prototypes, happy to be proven wrong......may be the car was attacked by a section of Triumph purists?

Iheard of a chap who left his car open at a transport show.....upon returning there was a family of 4 enjoying their picnic in the back!:shock:

At least the crumbs and grease can be cleaned up if you've still got the car.:shock:

I attended that event without the stag.

Just read the local paper and a Rover p5 was also stolen from the same place, the paper has shown a picture of both cars on p2 so good exposure, hopefully they will catch the b*****stds who took them and string them up by the B****ks.
