i'm looking at cleaning the engine, and the engine bay. Stong soapy soloution for the paint work, whats the best stuff for the engine and or paint work
when I did mine I removed cap complete withht leads. Installed an old dizzy cap with loads of vaseline around the edge to prevent water getting in. removed the air filter and stuffed rags into the air inlet. disconnected the battery and used gunk type degreaser - be careful some of this stuff can be flamable.
I then fired up the pressure washer and gave it some beans but was careful of the fuse box and electronic ignition module.
Engine came up a treat.
Quick jet of wd40 to the end of each spark plug before reinstalling the HT lead and after reinstalling the airfilter and connecting up the battery it fired straight up.

Stags and Range Rover Classics - I must be a loony
It's an expensive way of doing it but use aerosols of brake cleaner or similar it will clean off the oil and alike then evaporate rather than cover all the engine electrics in water

Hi Alan, the engine cleaner I use is AutoGlym Engine Clean, comes in a 1 litre spray pack and it's water soluble, all you need is a stiff old paint brush, one litre lasts me two seasons, good stuff. Martin.
