    Rear Heated Screen

My rear heated screen doesn't work!

    A) What should I check?

    B) Are the connections in the B posts still avaiable? (If found to be suspect)

I think this needs fixing as a misted up rear screen is a little bit dangerous this time of year when we all live in endless darkness

At 34 I think retirement is a long way off! But hey if I won the lottery just imagine how many posts per month I could do then!

The B post connections are still available, at least they were a few months ago when I bought new ones from RB, about £12 I think.

B-post connections are rather simple devices. The only thing that goes wrong is the plastic housing goes brittle and breaks. If this is sound, then it should be easy to do some fault finding with a meter or a lightbulb and a couple of wires.

Does the green light beneath the switch come on when the switch is pulled (ignition on)?

One b-post connector is feed, the other is earth. If you find these are good, then the next step is to fit the hard top and check for power/earth at the connectors each side of the screen.

Need new b post female connectors on mine, which is why I have put off putting the hardtop back on until they are done.

Was bidding on some on ebay a while back until they reached nearly the cost of thenew ones.

              Must get some ordered!

                Hi Dave

No the green light doesn't come on. I will have to wait until next week to check everything as it looks like it is going to be a wet one this weekend!:?

                  Stu,

The green light is in parallel to the HRS, so it will come on whether the HRS is working or not. As this isn't coming onit could bethe bulb is blown/missing.Supply for the HRScomes off the same fuse as the heater blower. Is this working?

The bulb holder is easy to dislodge if you are poking around behind the radio area .mine was working but i just couldn't see it as it had come out of the front piece.
