    Help with wiper motor

I was supposed to be going to Cirencester tomorrow in the stag but my windscreen wipers have stopped working .They where working fine but then started to go slower and slower until they finely stopped completely but if you lift the wiper arms off the screen they will work no problem, it is as if the motor hasn't got enough power to move the arms . I have striped the motor down but cant see anything obvious ,I know I wont get them fixed in time to travel (will go in the ford )but any ideas for when I get back

Hi John, it rather sounds like worn out brushes, have you tried slightly stretching the springs ? Martin.

If it works it's only a temporary fix, I've tried changing brushes but I couldn't melt the solder, you can buy the fibreboard with brushes attached, but it's dearer than a second hand motor, Good luck. Martin.

The Cirencester trip was cancelled so I had a look at it today in the end I got a new fiberboard and brushes of a dolly I had to play about with the wiring but it is working well now thanks for the advice
