thought you guys might like to see this, and who thought the Stag could not be modified, biggest engine i have seen in one so far

A Ford small block V8 is not actually a large engine externally. I would think it is very comparable with the Stag engine. I think that the bore spacing is very similar, actually.
On top of that, a fully-dressed, all-cast iron Ford small block weighs about 450 pounds, versus 446 pounds for the Stag engine.
The Ford is narrower than the Chevrolet small block but slightly longer, from what I've read.
And the Ford small block can be stroked out to 347 cubic inches - 5.6 litres! 550 brake horsepower is trivial to these stroked motors too...
