Just had this made but now wondering if their should be any holes in the sides for water ways as existing pump seems to have.

no holes
the holes in original are to prevent water that might escape past the seals into the oil and the other way round ,oil into water.
it then escapes via a slot at the raer of water pump into the vee
you are now sealing that passage with the bung

Wards don't have any in stock. But my mate is a cnc machine operator gave it to him to do so not much effort and as we work job for job no cost.
