Seat belt binnacle anchor point

Hi All

I am nearly finished fitting out my interior and can not find any description of what the Seat belt binnacle anchor looks like. I have been told its' a right angled bracket with a hole in each end. One bolts through the large threaded hole in the transmission tunnel (I found a bracket fitting this description in a box of bits which came with the wreck)

My binnacles are black with a white button on each and a threaded hole in the bottom. How do these bolt to the bracket-if its the right one and/or is there something missing to the set up I have described ?as the smaller threaded bolts I have which are still located in each binnacle are too short to bolt the two together.

The Rimmer catalogue,Haynes manual and Triumph workshop manuals do not show it.



Can anyone help please...its all I need for it's first M.O.T. for twenty years

The seat belt anchor iswhat you described: it is a (U shaped) bracket with three holes; the centre hole for fixing onto the tunnel; the other two holes for fitting the seat belts to.

The binnacle is the carpet covered thing with an ash tray in the back.Fitting sequence is:

1. Place the binnacle retainer clip under the seat belt anchor (with clip ears at the front) and bolt it to the tunnel.

2. Fit the seat belt anchor(s)

3. Place the binnacle over the anchors and slide over the ears of the clip.

4. Screw the rear of the binnacle down using a self tapping screw into a hole under the ash tray recess.

5. Fix ash tray down using two s/t screws and fit ash tray.

Job done.

Thanks V mad for a cracking description.Obviously the right angled bracket I have is not the one.I'll have to try and get one as you decribed.
