    my Stag

just got to tell, hehehheheh just had a bit of a turn with a saxo would you believe, i dont race the stag, never will or so i thought i would.stupid kid would not get off my tail, pulled at side of me at every lights revving like mad every time, so i had enough, floored pricilla, yes thats her name, first time ever, off like a bullet, with auto too, didnt even see him, looked in the mirror he was just a blip hahhahah and shes older than he is!!!! i didnt think she would be that quick off the mark no wheel spin nothing, back went down front up and gone, oh and a puff of smoke too, felt so good, i have now realised why i love my stag so much, she may be old, she may be crankey, she may be a typical female but dont upset her
sorry i'm rambling now but i would have loved to seen the look on his face though up the oldies hahahhha

Love it the younger generation seem to perceive old cars as slow and underestimate their potential..

This is the whole point of big engined classics, if they are set up well they can show a surprising turn of speed to spotty youth who can only afford to insure a 1300!

Why do you think I have beenputting Stag V8s into TRs, Toledos, Estates, and shortly even into a Stag

Ever put a Stag V8 into a TR7? Always something I've thought of doing.

Gave a VR6 Golf belonging to a neighbour a real shock the other night, when he was having a hard job keeping up with me (his own words)......

Apart from the apparent disbelief that a Stag could be that quick, his other comment was "that REALLY sounds nice when you are revving the crap out of it - like Days of Thunder....."

I've paid the price for that beasting......... think I've bust my diff - something let go yesterday and it's making a horrendous noise - have to look at it later to find out what I have killed, but it sounds expensive......

It's already been done with a reliable V8!

Yeah but not a nice sounding V8. The Rover V8 just sounds like a typical American V8 that it is! And it's a Triumph motor deserves to be in a Triumph.
Nothing wrong with the Buick/Rover V8 but the TV8 feels more like a sports car motor it likes to rev.
