Hard Top restoration

Has anyone who has restored their hard top recently, got a preferred supplier for the headlining and the clips that hold the trims in place?

Is there an alternative to those horrible metal clips thatsecure the rear and side trims?

Hiya Raoul, the alternative to the steel clips is an auto sealant called Tiger Seal, I presume it or similar are available in Aus. It grips like hell and doesn't spoil the paint, the downside is that removing parts later on is very difficult, and likely to damage them. Of course that may not be an issue. Martin.

I've just replaced mine with a headlining from Paddocks which it transpires comes from Aldridges (I think Paddocks is slightly cheaper!)

I thought the quality and material was excellent (and generous). However,I had 2 issues that can be resolved easily:

1) the material tubing that goes round the 4 headling support rails was too long and had to be cut back - as it was the very first thing I did I was apprehensive about cutting too much off but it turned out fine.

2) Although the main headlining is rectangular, there are two 'ears' stitched on that cover the C pillars. These were stitched in the wrong place. I had to cut them off and neatly glue themin the correct place.

I was a bit p***** off about these but at the end of it it looks fabulous - if I say so myself and I would recommend it to anyone - subject only to those two comments.
