Rear Brake Light?

Hi (again)

Someone stopped me earlier to say everytime I brake the tail light goes off (on the passenger side) and no brake light! The drivers side works fine - tail light on then brighter brake light.

Swapped for new bulb, swapped for known good bulb ...

It looks like the spade connectors are OK but they have been re-done at some point ...

Anyone got any suggestions?

You have an earth problem, try earth to bodywork but it is more likely the bulb holders.

Try cleaning the spring connector in the bottom of the bulb holderand make sure it is bent upwards enough to connect with the bulb.

I fitted new bulb holders that had separate earth terminals to fix the problem.

Just a simple bit of wiring to link all the earths and I made a new earth polnt on the body near the light units as I had a problem with the earth in the loom.

My brake lights sometimes come on when I change gear. Any ideas?

Most likely there is friction on the pedal box shaft and as you press down the clutch pedal, you bring the brake pedal with it (you might just need to adjust the brake light switch so that it comes on further down)

Of course you could stop wearing those clown shoes that make you press all 3 pedals at once.........
