    Mustang v8 into stag?

Ford mustang 4.6 v8 sohc with manual gearbox, as seen for sale on ebay. Can it be done without a bonnet bulge? Or even at all?

Why not go for a 1970s periodMustang engine; the 302 cu-in (5 litre)? These are the same weight as the Stag engine. Plenty around and you can fit a Holley carb; no complicated electronics.

There's a yellow '73 Stag in Portland, Oregon that's got a mid-80s 5.0 Mustang engine in it. It was for sale last year sometime, and according to Craigslist it still is.

I looked at it at the time.. it's absolutely pristine. Fuel injection, modern A/C system, mostly Ford electrics.. the lot. The bonnet bulge is a little.. uh.. unconventional, but it's reliable and seems like a surprisingly simple conversion given all the other junk that's attached to the engine.
