Little green light on centre console

Hi all,

Just to the right of the heater controls I have a little green lamp, and I have no idea what it is for. Don't think it is standard fit. Anybody got any ideas?

Heated rear window; pull the switch and it'll come on even if the hard top is off. it's a standard fit to all Stags

It's for the heated rear window in a hard top, should come on when you operate the switch. (ignition on)

Ah! That's why I've never seen it on - I've never had the hard top on

Mine never come's on at all and I have also wondered what it's for. Now I know though looks like a winter project to see if I can get it to work again. Managed to get the clock working believe it or not

If no hardtop then why not wire the switch as an antitheft switch,either cut power to fuel pump or ignition,via a relay of course,or could be wired into the white/red wire from ignition switch to starter.

Or wire it as recently suggested to the Extra cooling fan?

Use mine as the manual overide for the electric fan, drilled out the centre of the green lamp and fitted leds, added an extra one to the other side of the panel, one comes on if fan kicks in on auto via the rad switch and the other comes on when the switch is pulled for manual overide of the fan.
