Thread standards for Stag

Gent's could you advise what type threads should be used in the Stag. I have come across some metric which must have been used as an alternative at some point.

So just trying to clarify exactly what the threadtypes should be

Hi Mike, according to the workshop manual they are both UNF and UNC depending on which part of the car you are working on. Terry

Generally, but not always unc in aluminium and unf in steel/iron

Speaking from experience, it is not unusual to find metric studs forced into UNC holes which does the threads in the alloy no good at all

For the definitive answer to bolt sizes you need two sources. The first is the triumph stag parts book. This is still in print. (Rimmers diagrams are based on this).

The second item is harder to find, The Stanpart Hardware catalogue. Not available in hard copy but there is a pdf scanned copy floating around on the internet.

Someone on here has sorted out the bits and bobs from it on their website (www.stagbytriumph.net) - sorry I can't remember who it is!

go to PARTS > STANPART - HARDWARE Part Numbers.

With these two you should be able to find out pretty much what any bolt on the car is.
