    Seat cleaning ideas......?

I recently used Renovo on my soft top to recolours and waterproofand found ituseless, I now have a streak across the top, black stains on inside fabric and the hood still leaked (have now used Faberseal).

However I digress, I also used Renovo to clean the plastic window and its fantastic, much clearer.I spilt some on the rear seatand the grime that came off made me realise they need proper cleaning, the liquid is to expensive to use in quantity and "Halfords stuff" clearly doesn't work.

So any recomemndations on cleaning the seats please?

Thanks Graham, I'll keep an eye out. I mention Halfords as an example, I bought the last tin there.

Gent's scoff at this if you like but my wife cleans our light coloured leather sweet using fabric softener and a little detergent mixed with water. Pretty good result keeps the leather subtle and removes all the muck. I would imagine that it's pretty easy on the leather and to be honest smells pretty good as well. The leather sweet is 15 years old and honestly looks like new

I'm sure he'll be too modest to show this, but this is what Dave (StagnJag) did with a piece of trim that I sent him a while ago

this is the half way point - left half cleaned, right half not.

(Strong solution of warm water and washing powder, a plastic bristled pot scrubbing brush and a dose of elbow grease).

(Yes I do photograph everything - well as far as the stag is concerned!!!)

I used to use Flash powder diluted but very strong solution on Maxi seats, I believe same vinyl as Stag, if not very similar, with a scrubbing brush then rinse well, use to come up great and the dirt that came off, you wouldn't believe!

Don't know if you can still get it.
I only do what the voices in my wife’s head tell me to do!

Looking at the picture, maybe mines not too bad! I have tried household cleaners before but wary of what they might do and actually found little difference for the work. The Renovo stuff I used on the rear window really worked - I gues thats the sort of instant effect I'm after.

fairy liquid hot water scrub seats with scrubbing brush then towel dry straight after each section(do scrubbing in small sections,4 stages in total) than add connely leather/vinyl care when dry use plenty , buff up after 20mins with dry cloth or towel

                        be like new

I used diluted road traffic film remover and a soft brush, worked a treat.

Thats a novel idea Dave, I think it needs soemthing to dissolve the grease, how do you dilute it tho?

I just dilluted it with water and tested it on a small area before applying to the seats, used a scubbing brush on the basket weave to remove the dirt that had accumalated in the holes. Removed the seats to do the job.
