    Crazy June Magazine!!

Just received my June Magazine this morning. A very engaging read, but put together by a madman.
Reading from page 1, it goes pages 1-16, then 33-48, then 17-32, followed by 65-80, then 49-64, and finally 81-95.
Anybody else find the same? Suggest a search for evidence ofalcoholic beverage be made of the maker-upperer's office!!
Otherwise, once I'd got my head around it, a cracking read!

    Hi All

Those of you who have received this month's magazine will have seen there has been a printing glitch, with some of the pages transposed.

If you want to know the technical reason for this, the magazine is printed in three sections of 32 pages each. When it is put together, a machine picks up the three sections in turn, laying them on top of each other, then they are stapled and folded. The bottom section of the pile has pages 1-16, and 81-96. The second section is pages 17-32 and 65-80. The third section is 33-64. By sod's law this month, and a one in 10,000 chance, the bins containing the second and third sections were swapped around, and so the sections were transposed.

Luckily only a couple of pages were completely out of sync, the second page of the Letters, and the second page of the Drive it Day, plus the Out & About.

Unfortunately by the time the error was spotted, 90% of the magazines had been sent out. Our printers Lavenham Press contacted us, and immediately offered to reprint the whole magazine, and send them out again, at no cost to us. However that would have cost them thousands of pounds, and we did not think the error was worth it. By the time everyone received the new version, they would have worked out the transpositions, and still managed to read the magazine. Instead we said we would take a credit against future printing, which seemed to us to be a much better deal for the club in the long run.

Hopefully you will all agree this is the better move, and we will try to do better next month.

PS I loved the Morecambe & Wise quip from the earlier post - I will remember that if it should happen again!

Don't worry about it and I reckon if I read every post I'd never get the chance to enjoy (or work on) the Stag

        Cheers
