Peter James (PD James). Get a free quote you will be surprised. I have two classics covered for about £140, and agreed values, self valuation, car parked on drive!
Hiya Mike, I'm in the process of persuing a claim through Footman James after being hit up the back. I've been with them for six years but no more ! They've been taken over by Aon and are part of a giant conglomerate. After the shunt on April 1st it took four days to contact them, they sub - contract everything, arranging a loan car produced a 12 page form from Helphire, each call to either took on average 20 minutes in a queue, I've also had to deal direct with the insurance company and the other drivers company, complicated doesn't describe it ! Martin.
Gent's just got quote from PD James for 130 quid for both me and the wife 100 quid excess 60 quid for windscreen break down cover the lot how good is that

Mike - lots of comparative quotes in this recent thread:
Just got my quote back from lancaster classic insurance £140, me the mrs and Agreed Valution £5000, and 3K miles, sounds really good so taken it. If the quote hadno Mrsand no agreedValution it would of been only £106.
I know that it depends upon where you live but what do other people pay?
Is that an "agreed value" policy, or market value ? Martin.
Martin this is an agreed value I wont say on this post but will PM you if you want with value but only said 1500 miles per year as I don't do much as I'm away for 6 months of every year and don't drive it in the winter at all
I've always been with RH Specialist Insurance, advertised in the mag.
Renewal for July, £100.80. Fully comp.
Valued at £6000, 5000 miles per year, £100 excess. Parked in garage.
What do you guys think of legal expenses cover, I have never taken it as I was advised years ago by a friend broker that it's a bit of a con, an insurance for insurance, any comments gratefully received.
Jeff.
I only do what the voices in my wife’s head tell me to do!

Hi Jeff,
I wondered about this many times, but have always taken it. I was really glad I did 4 years ago when some toe-rag in a Corsa cut me up and scraped right down the side of my Stag. He refused to stop but I got his number and reported him to the police. They refused to do anything as I had no witnesses who were prepared to stop and make statements, despite the fact that he nearly hit two other cars, jumped a red light and sped off in a 30mph zone.
My insurers paid up but it cost me my £100 excess. I went back to my insurers with all the evidence to see if there was any way I could claim from the other guy. They put me in touch with my legal expenses firm (DAS) who took on my case. We took the little blighter to court and won. Not only did I get my excess back and my insurer got their money, but I also got expenses on top. Result!
