We have a number of roads in our area that have do-gooders happily brandishing their speed guns.
In our case, you can receive any number of letters, but they cannot prosecute - the scheme mentioned by the link may be different because they do state that training in the equipment has been completed.
IMHO the individuals should join the police force if that is what they like doing.

My personal opinion on this is I have no problem with speed cameras or speed awareness initiatives when done in the 30& 20 mph zone around town because anyone of our children,pets,relatives could be hit by some speeding in these built up areas:shock:
I do however think the speed limits out of town and on Motorways should be revised to be higher and better training including Motorway drivinggiven so drivers/riders now what they are doing behind the wheel. After all it is not really speed that causes the problem it is the use of it in an inappropriate situation that ends in disaster.
