I really hate that abbreviation, if it was the other way round ie 'HE' ect ect your front drive would look like greenham common on collective pmt day, while they worked out how to release the downtrodden soul!

As my eldest daughter would say ' come on guys 'MAN UP'

thats possibly a fair comment, but i have to say in the 22 years i was married i never hid a bill or reciept, and neither did she.......i think! shame she never took bobs advice though!

To be fair SWMBO is such an obvious lie that it shouldn't be misconstrued, if I said 'the wife' or 'the missus' it has certain connotations perhaps:?.

I count myself lucky that we have been together for 20 years and are still happy..I think..I might have been out after 15 for good behaviour if had murdered her.

we have just celebrated our 30th anniversary, she says I still make her laugh, mainly when I'm getting out the shower:shock:

And after living 'in sin' for around 32 years, we finally got married last year just after I retired.

And she is quite happy to be referred to as 'SWMBO'. I use itaffectionately and with a smile - even ifthere is a fair degree of truth in it :shock:

when it comes to how much I spend on my cars it is HWMBO, ie if I want to buy ANOTHER STAG I will just buy it! My garage and my carsis exclusively my world :X

But SWMBO has her domain which I respect. I really agree that I must not sit on our new leather sofa with greasy overalls!

H Rider Haggard (22 June 1856 – 14 May 1925) predated Rumpole of the Bailey by quite some time (The origins of Rumpole of the Bailey lie in “Infidelity Took Place”, a play written by John Mortimer and broadcast by the BBC on 18 May 1968)

As for 'GROW SOME' - whenever I use the acronym - including to SWMBO's face - it is said in a lighthearted, fun and caring way.

I'm completely with you - except we've been smiling at each other for 42 years, and I've loved every minute, I refer to her as SWMBO and she calls me Victor Meldrew. Martin.

I use it and will continue to use it :P

I go on a lads away trip to Le Mans every year.

I run a Stag and a Range Rover Classic

I drink like a fish and am getting a little over weight

I fart in the bath but do refrain from pissing in the kitchen sink

I love the humour of my three sons (11 and twin 9 year olds) It seems to very much match mine

SWMBO at least lets the good lady wife "think" that she is in control... :dude:
