Java Green is a fine colour...no really...honestly it is...

Well done for posting it here. I was watching it out of interest but t'was above my budet...and Java....hrrrrm.

Being a newbie to Stags I am a bit ubnclear on the reasons for "ringing" as it seems they are rung backward, whereas isn't it usually that they are made to look newer as new is worth more?

I know that there is the matter of being Tax exempt, but taxing isn't expensive so what am I missing? Are older cars more desirable?

Thanks Ian...that's exactly what I thought. I have read that the steel on 84-85 (?) cars was meant to be a better grade but don't know if that's true.

I have heard this too, but not sure if it is an 'urban myth'. Even so, these are now 35 years old so unless protected properly from new they will be suffering from the same tin worm as any other.

It seems that Tax or lack of it is the only reason people seem to 'ring' the cars, but why?, if you don't have £200 spare each year then a stag should not have been on your list of wants, MK1 stags are no more desirable than MK11's.

Over the life of ownership that's a lot of money; it's a stupid rule (thanks Gordon you half witt). If I could get a V5 and plates I'd happily "ring" mine to a Tax free. I'd want to be able to swap it back again though.

I'm just wanting for mine to be tax free when the budget come out next week. :?

being a smug git.....you can disagree now....mine is historically taxed or in modern parlence tax exempt or free, i think it was one of the last stags to be so blessed being built on 18th of Dec 1972. its a lovely car and would not have stopped me buying it had it been taxable, but every time i lookat the disc I have to smile and inwardly but humbley exalt a ...........
