I recently ordered some new viton tipped needle valves - the valves designed to shut-off the supply of fuel to the float chamber on the carbs.
I'll be honest and admit I don't know what 'viton' is, but my understanding was it provided a better seal then 'non-viton tipped'...
I assumed you would be able to see the coating - perhaps a black, rubbery coating...?
Anyway, apart from the sticky label on the packaging, there is nothing to suggest that I have viton tipped valves rather then the cheaper standard valves.
The valve tip appears to be brass like the rest of the valve so far as I can see.
Does anyone know if there is a way of confirming that you have been provided with viton-tipped as opposed to a standard valve?
