    NOS Windscreen frame

I just saw this item on Ebay, it's for sale in Sydney but he will ship worldwide. I 've got no connection with the seller, just thought it may be an alternative for those of you trying to resore a rotten windscreen frame.

    cheers,

Depends if it incudes the inner reinforcing sections.

if it's a factory part then it's 813023 so should be complete with the NSS bits and rain channels. A very rare part.

I'll vote for SOCTFL too. The most sensible thing to do.

                      Yes SOCTFL is listening !

We are aware several members are also looking at this item and hope that even if it is purchased privately it could be used for possible future projects.

Shipping of course is the problem here with that alone costing $600 as a minimum according to the seller. SOme of the online shippers are quoting huge amounts running into thousands.

Anyone going to Australia shortly ?

                        Hi SOCTFL,

What is the general SOCTFL or SOC in general policy regarding 'collecting' NOS panels for potential future projects? Is there a club collection massing somewhere? Would it be useful if you were contacted when NOS panels are found on ebay or any other places?

                        Just a thought.

                        Rgds

Why is the shipping cost a problem? We just had this posted on the Magazine Usefulness Thread

So you mention the head removal tool, this they would not touch as there would be potential liability appending. So don't think for one moment that because we have an expensive mag, the tooling fund will get less money....

Is this sea freight or air freight? I would have thought a slot in a container by sea freight of an item this size and weight would not be this much? May need a bit of chasing down but surely worth it. It's not that it's needed tomorrow and could endure a 3 week cruise..

I'm happy for it to be road freighted to my place, I'll store it and then send it on a ship to the UK when all the arrangements are set in cement. In the meantime the clock is ticking! (On my Ebay page it estimates shipping to my house to be AUD$60.00)

                              regards,
