Father's Day - 19th June 2010

Not a Stag topic I know, but as tommorrow is Father's Day thought I'd slip this post in.

My daughter has just flown 2000+ miles (from Stanstead) to take her father out for a meal on Father's day in Los Cristianos. She has only come for 4 days (and left her husband at home), and has made the journey specifically for this one reason.

Nice to see that some children do still care about their parents - so we mustn't have brought our two kids up all that wrong.
My son was out last week but one with two of our grandaughters when it was half-term, and he too has left me something to open tomorrow.

Are other Stag owners children thoughtfull to their parents?

Going to Harewood House fathers day classic car rally tomorrow in the Stag

The Stags bursting at the seams, fitted rear seat belts last weekend so have a front facing baby seat for our 1 year old son, and a booster for my 5 year old daughter. Mum for the first time in over a year can now sit in the front!

Hood up though, the kids would be frozen otherwise travelling at motorway speeds!

There is not much room when you have to put a buggy in the boot with all the usual other stuff:?

Good luck Terry,and all you other dads. Have to say my daughter and grandchildren take me out regularly. Little has changed over the years. I still end up paying, (gladly).

Hello to all, hope all the stag dads have had a good fathers day !

Children are full of surprises, as my fathers day present was Stag related, I thougth I would share it with you all. My 17 year old son has just given me this,

When I get the stag back on the round I think this will be hanging proudly from the rear view mirror.

That was the first surprise of the day, the second I will share with you all tomorow !!!

I enjoyed 'eat as much as you like' Chinese with my family today. Brilliant! My granson is now nearly two, and he ate nearly as much as me! He is now talking quite a bit, and his eyes light up when I say 'do you want to see the old car' then he repeats 'old car, old car' since he remembers the Stag from his last visit. His initiation is under way!

My son got up at 2 am to drive me the 140 miles to London so I could take part in the British Heart Foundation's London to Brighton bike ride.

Then he was at the finishing line at Brighton to take an embarrassing picture of me and drive me home.

It took up most of the day - Bless him

Any other Staggers in the L2B ride??

Yeah - as a motorist as well as a cyclist, that sort of thing makes me cringe. As does the behaviour of some cyclists - althoughthat of some motorists does as well :shock:

Mind you,in 4 rides, I've raised about £2000for the British Heart Foundation which makes me think it's worthwhile,especially when my brother had major heart surgery a couple of days after my first ride - hope you agree.
