    Any one know this car?

I like the look of this one and there is a possibilty they may take the Tiger in PX.

    http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C152291/

I have emailed the garage for more info and they have said the following :

Body - "There some rust bubbling at the bottom of both doors and minor
bubbles elsewhere. The front valance has some rust too. The boot lid has
some small rust in the seam. There has been welding done to the underside
but it is good and strong. It passed its MOT the week before last. There is
some filler in the rear wheel arches."

Interior & hood- "Good and nice and clean. The driver's seat foam is slightly
collapsed as always with these cars and there is a small split in the rear
seat. The hood is very good." (I can see a damaged patch on the passenger side dash-top too).

Engine etc - "It drives very well and is quite rare with the manual gearbox with
overdrive. Engine rebuilt in 2001. "

History - "There is a very good history file and there is a invoice from
Hart Racing Services for the engine rebuild. I would mention that I sold
the car five years ago and it was in exactly the same condition then and has
not deteriorated. The last chap enjoyed the car, put petrol in it and had it
serviced once a year without it costing him too much."

Has anyone any knowledge of Percivals and / or the car (I guess without the reg number it's hard to know but it's a small world!)

    Thanks.

    Ian

The pictures certainly make it look very nice and French blue is a lovely colour, why not get one of the Kent guys to go with you and give a second opinion.

      good luck

I think French Blue is my favourite Stag colour tbh and, oddly, I had been recently toying with the idea of wrapping the Tiger in that colour - must have been the old subconcious at work!

The garage need to come back to me and tell me what they might give me for the Tiger before it's worth me arranging a trip down there. But if it gets to that point I would really be appreciative if a member close-ish to Maidstone would have a look at it with me.

It would be nice in the meantme to know if anyone knows the garage (they seemed quite honest and open in what they have said so far I though) or, even better, the car itself (maybe I willa sk for the chassis or reg number but I don't want to be thought of as a "ringer"!)

If you get the reg number and chassis number you could try and speak with the SOC Registrar, Peter Robinson. If the car's been previously owned by a club member he'll most probably have details. His number is 01379 677735 (email - socmembership@stag.uk.net).

I got mine from them acouple of years agonow. Simon Percival seemed quite a straight bloke to me, it had a lack of pressure in the cooling system that turned out to be the expansion bottle neck but I was worried about head gasket so he got his mechanic to do a sniff test etc to put my mind at rest anyway and also fitted a new cap and bottle. Broke down on the way home!! but it was dirt in the fuel tank - not really his fault and he did phone the next day to make sure I got home and had sorted it ok

Good luck - hope its ok

Hi Ian, I'm a bit puzzled, A Tiger is worth approximately double the price of a similar Stag, and HE'LL give YOU a part ex ? ? ? :? Martin.

Yep...it's not a Sunbeam Tiger......if it was I may not be moving toward a Stag.

I went to this dealer with my Sunbeam Rapier to px against a stag, nice chap, and i knows it`s his business but he offered me halfof what theSunbeam was worth and the stag was not the best example..certainly not worth the money.

                          Sell your car privately

Buy from a Private seller you get the best deal and you get a better picture of the cars history.

                          IMHO

                            Hello Adrian,
Selling privately is the best way I know and I have never been one to throw my money away in trade-in situations.....it's just that I am getting no interest and have developed this itch for a Stag.

He has said now what he would offer and it's not enough for me so depends if he will move on it a bit. I have got the reg number now but not sure it's right to post it on open forum as Percivals made the effort to conceal it in the add.
