Apologies if football is a banned subject here, but honestly.......

I think from the minute we arrived here, Capello seemed awed by it and froze. The system he played throughout was abysmal as were his substitutions, which I have never seen to lack so much imagination in any professional game I have ever watched. In this game he takes Defoe off and puts on Heskey??!!!! when we are 3-1 down and 15 mins left. For sheer stupidity I can only think it is matched by Graham Taylor taking off Lineker and sending on Alan Smith all those years ago when we needed a goal to qualify - and with the same result.

Move onto the players themselves we may have two maximum who are possibly world class (Cashly and Terry), and if Lampard and Gerrard are then I am a ducks-you know what. Rooney shouldn't have bothered to leave the Uk as he did less than zero in 4 games.

Total shambles and I am glad we are going home - what a disgrace.

It really was a disgracefull performance - regardless of the validity of England's 2nd goal. Can we have an English speaking Manager please who can properly communicate with the Players. If it were up to me I would arrange a boycott of all the first matches in the Premiership starting August as a protest at the overpaid, overrated so called footballers we currently have.
Sir Alf Ramsey will be turning in his grave.:X

Cashley and TERRY world class,I dont think so,the only one who came out of that debacle with any respectwas the championship player David James.Terry was caught out time and time again today,its time this lot had a reality check including the manager,theyve took the piss for too long and got away with it.

Further to my earlier comment, I think all the English players who went to South Africa should be put in "Detention" and forced to watch a replay of the match and write a 100 lines on what they think about their performance.
If their football skills are anything to go by I doubt whether any of them could put 100 lines of coherent prose together!

Don't get me wrong...I am no fan of Cashley or Terry ... but possibly was the word I used They do hold a reasonable claim to being world class as there are few in their position world-wide who you can say are better on a consistent basis when playing at the highest level.

What came out of this tournament for England was three facts a lot of us knew alll along a) that the myth must be killed that we have a team festooned with world-class players - because we don't b) David James is our best keeper and it was ludicrious of Capello to make him sweat to prove it so heaven help us when his reactions do recede into distant memor y:shock: and, finally c) Cappello is not Alf reborn but Sven with a chin.

Everyone will have their own views........... but personally i'm not surprised that a team with no pace in its defence or midfield (cole excepted) lost out to a side with bucketloads of the stuff

Pleased that Muller (sp?) was subbed after he'd done the damage - saved me from further pain- and possibly a worse scoreline!

On a brighter note my youngest daughter has Germany in her sweepstake as well as Steve
