How did your car do today.

Hi all being confined to barracks as it were I would be interested to know how your stag coped with the heat today, been very intense here in South London, uncomfortable even. I have had mine out in similar temperatures before and it was OK. Only mod I have is a 4 row rad and it would have ran at about 1/3rd on the gauge today.

Hope you had an enjoyable time what ever you did

    Ian.

    Hi Ian

Like you I am recvering from eye surgery, as mine was to correct a squint and I had a pair of glasses made up in anticipation of the op working I have had no problem driving etc (close up a bit blurred but should get new new specs next week)

My boys had heard that the scrap aircraft at Manston had been moved so we went for a look. The car ran fine even the misfire at higher (4000rpm) revs seems to have gone.

Temperature usually sits between E & M but still touching the Ewas touching the M today. Stag Paranioa crept in and I did check the temp guage more than usual.

I hope all goes well with your recovery and you're back on the road soon

    Phil

Thanks Phil, should be Ok after Tuesday when I go back for my 2nd post op check up. Probably just as well I couldn't have gone to Goodwood with the others, I would have had one eye on the gauge and the other on the road. Dare I say it, the car is OK but the Stag paranoia is always lurking in the background somewhere.

      Ian.

350 miles today of which about 300 was between 70 - 80 mph.
Temp fine going down this morning, farside of M coming home this afternoon, but used to it doing that now so not worried.

        Al

p.s just a standard cooling system at present.

Temp ok....slightly above half, but failed to start after being left for 30 mins. Flooding I think. Left it for another 10 mins and got her going Looks like the new float valves didn't do the trick :?

Hi Al, 80mph in mine for any length of time isn't a pleasant experience with the BW35, one day I'll join the ZF gang

                3000rpm gives me 65-70 to hold 70 I need 3500rpm.

Had lots to do this weekend requiring a big boot and comfort for my 3-year-old, so I've been using the Saab instead of the Stag. Should have used the Stag, the fan fell off the Saab this afternoon!

Still, at least I'll *have* to use the Stag tomorrow

Yes my fan fell off my Stag Thursday wrecked the rad and I have only done 300 miles with her, the bolt came loose so the fan moved forward into the rad, should have the recon rad from Paddocks tomorrow fingers crossed.

What can I say:X At Bromley we had 40 Stags on the stand the only one that had any problems was the one with the Jag engine (as quoted in this weeks Classic Car weekly) That was the car with a write up displayed on it saying how reliable it was as opposed to the TR V8:shock:

Hope it don't end up too expensive Wendy.

I have been cruising about all day yesterday and today with a couple of my mates in the Stag, I have been stuck in really solid traffic today and also been stuck behind a smash up, the Stag idled away in the afternoon sun for almost 20 minutesthen crept along in traffic for a further 15 minutes.

The temp sat to the left of "M", I must say the water pump mod is worth its weight in gold.

An old mate of mine offered me 7 grand for the Stag. But Iput it on hold till I get my "E" type..........................some day.

                            Sukh.

went a 50mile round trip today, after fitting a ld part 88 thermostat , temp stayed at roughly 80(mark 1 gauge) and a final blooter at foot to the floor through the bw35 box= large ear to ear grin and a sound at full revs which is unique
