    Fuel Warning light

    Hi all,

in the above mentioned June-mag I found the following advert:

"Fuel warning light. Make your fuel warning light function correctly with our easy to fit smoothing device. Contact tantbmainland@btconnect.com"

Did anyone contact the company and if so what was the result?

Good question - I was wondering the same thing. My light starts to flash at about 50% !

I think I did quite a while ago. I didn't bother as I seem to remember I didn't like the price. Could have changed by now though.

            Hi Klaus,

This was the outcome back in March - a reply came eventually, scroll to the bottom of the thread.

Thanks Al for the info - I missed the March thread.

There seems to be quite a lot of interest in this part but 25 pounds is the problem. TONYPY1 mentioned in the March thread to kindly try some circuits "on a breadboard". Any news?

To Staggering About:would it possible for you to scan the diagram and publish it here?

Hi Klaus. I've converted my Word document into a .jpg. I hope it works.

I haven't fitted mine yet so can't guarantee success but worth a go. The instructions are for a water level switch. The -12v will come from the tank sender & the O/P would go to the lamp or relay if required.
I got all the parts from Maplin on line. These parts are for a 10 sec delay.
                    Hope it works for you.

Is somebody willing to spend 9.99 and try the unit?

                            Guys,

This isn't quite as simple as we might hope; Triumph have, as usual, done things the slightly complicated way. The sensor does not apply +12v to the lamp, it applies an earth to the lamp, with +12v waiting on the other side.

I've been in contact with Niel McNiven who sells the 555-timer circuits regarding a 'Stag Unique' option. He can help us with a custom built item at £13.99 + £1.95 UK P&P.

I need to give him the 'lamp-on' voltage which will have to wait until I've run down the contents of my fuel tank!

                            I'll keep you informed.

                            Peter

Use this circuit with the relay and it still does the job - just wire the relay so it switches to earth.
