Err.... in actual fact I think you will find those fields are a "must" and not a"wish". Try saving your profile change without having filled out those fields.

Exactly, you now cannot update your profile without entering mandatory fields with your full name, address, and email address. I would like an expalanation of why this is required, andhow secure it is. The SOC already has our address on file. :X

Yes, but not everyone uses their real name!

Hi Chris, All the mandatory fields have a note against them stating:
"This is a private field. Its contents will be visible only to you, the super moderator(s) and administrator(s) of this board."
Why not drop Carl a message if you have any particular questions related to the degree of security in place?

My guess is that it ischecked against membership, not a member ? at your own peril:shock:
This is all getting out of hand. I've never used a forum yet (and I use quite a few), even a paying one, where your full name, address, postcode what have you is stored....., and certainly not one where I pay £37 p.a. so I can read fossilised old eMail circulated jokes.
We have to remember, none of these changes have anything to do with setting up or running the forum but are only so that the magazine can be subsidised.
