Had Enough

Hi All

Recently we have had long debates about Forum Changes with the majority not in favour of any changes!

We then find out yesterday changes have been made and now they would like you to supply all your personal details!

Well I have had enough, when I joined the SOC (before forum existed) I found the club stuffy and snobby, then the forum came along and I have made lots of new friends and we have all helped each other at one time or another over the last 3 years. I will not be rejoining the club in September and will stop using the forum as I am fed up with being told what to do, this is a club not a company I get enough of that c*** at work I do not want it from the car club I join and partake in because of my love for the marque.

It is a sad day when members have to vote with their feet as their voice is not being heard:X

Don't go Stu ! ! If you don't want to give out all that detail then don't, and after all, this place is like a pub meeting, you wouldn't give that up ! There's good info and camaraderie to you and from you, don't go ! Martin.

I agree with Martin.

May I suggest that you ring Carl and give him your information over the phone and I think you will find that not all of it is compulsory anyway, its just to make sure there is enough fields to get a unique sequence to ensure you are a member.

i agree with you that this club is the most stuck upclub toffee noseplacei have ever seen and is why when my 1st years membership ran out 6 years ago i never renewed it, after meeting a forum member at a show last year i decided to try it again after he told me how good it was, i must say it did change my mind as the forum is nothing like the club and is why i renewed my member ship this year, have made some good friends on here that are not like the club people i am talking about. it is well overdue the retirement time for them.



i am at the min right f--ked off with what is going on here with the crap i am readingand it wont take much more for me to go as well, i try not to post on it all or read it if i can, Just hold on for a bit cos you are not alone and lets see what happens.

The point that is being ignored here is change is easier to effect from within. .....

I thought people were wanting "no change" rather than change.

However, taking your point that change is easier effected from within (and that seems to be the case since this change is definitely being initiated and swiftly implemented from somewhere "within") can you say what is this "within" ?

Does being "within" mean:

a registered user of the Forum? Apparently not
a member of the SOC? Apparently not
an area administrator? Dunno. Maybe?
a UK Resident?
a member of an area group?
the SOC President?
other?

It seems to centre on who is taking decisions during these monthly meetings, doesn't it? Perhaps I am wrong and the membership has been canvassed unbeknown to me.
